Chef Chaz Brown at 2025’s sold-out Oxtail Collective event

Chef Chaz Brown, in partnership with Forman Arts Initiative, is hosting the Third Annual Oxtail Collective, a day-long cultural experience centered around the intersection of food, art, business, and history, bringing together some of the best Black chefs in Philadelphia and beyond.

On Sunday, August 30th, a “Full-Day Summer & Culinary Experience” will take place from 11 AM to 5 PM, and will feature 15 chefs from across the United States and the Caribbean, including culinary talent like Chad Williams, chef of the nationally celebrated and Michelin-starred Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Omar Tate, the James Beard nominated chef of Honeysuckle. In addition to Chefs Brown, Williams, and Tate, notable culinary names participating in the events include Chef Shola Olunloyo of Studiokitchen, Chef Cybille St. Aude-Tate of Honeysuckle, and several other award-winning chefs to be announced in the coming weeks.

Panel discussions focusing on Posey’s legacy, conversations examining food as a vehicle for history, a curated marketplace featuring local Black-owned businesses, restaurants, and brands, and a live musical performance featuring Caribbean soca music. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with founders, discover products and services, and support economic activity within the community.

With funding support from The City of Philadelphia’s 2026 Neighborhood Celebration Grant Fund supported by the City of Philadelphia and PECO/Exelon Corporation, Forman Arts Initiative is able to offer a series of dynamic programs that are free and open to the public.
